"This is the only thing I every use on my face and people are always asking me what products I use!. I know I can make it myself, but for making this for me, I will be reordering soon!" - Amanda

Section 1: Recipe

1/2 cup coconut oil

2 tablespoons jojoba oil

1.5 tablespoons beeswax pastilles (Can also use 3/4th of a 1 oz bar of beeswax, diced finely or grated)

10-15 drops essential oil

Section 2: Directions

Melt: Heat the coconut oil, beeswax, and jojoba oil in a double boiler. Stir occasionally until fully melted and combined.

  1. Cool: Pour the liquid into a glass blender. Let it sit until completely cool (about 1–1.5 hours).

  2. Prep: Scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula to loosen the mixture.

  3. Whip: Turn the blender on low. Slowly pour in the aloe vera gel, stopping occasionally to let everything blend.

  4. Finish: If the mixture gets stuck, scrape the sides and whip by hand until it reaches a light, fluffy texture.

Section 3: Pro Tips

Once your lotion is cooled but before that final whip, you can add about 10–20 drops of essential oils per cup of lotion to target your specific skin needs. Here are my top four recommendations for this recipe:

  • Rose Absolute: The ultimate "Queen of Oils" for mature or dry skin. It helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and adds a luxurious, floral aroma.

  • Tea Tree: A must-have for blemish-prone skin. Its purifying properties help keep skin clear and calm.

  • Geranium: This "balancing" oil works wonders for both oily and dry patches, helping to even out your complexion and promote a natural glow.

  • Myrrh: Historically prized for its healing properties, Myrrh is incredibly soothing and helps support a youthful, smooth-looking complexion.

Safety Note: Essential oils are highly concentrated. Always perform a patch test by applying a small amount of your diluted lotion to your inner forearm and waiting 24 hours to ensure no irritation occurs

. Avoid using these oils during pregnancy or on infants without consulting a healthcare professional. Make sure to double check the physical labels on your oil bottles to verify safety information and specific usage instructions.
